“He Can’t Afford To Do That” Johnny Nelson Delivers KO Verdict For Anthony Joshua-Daniel Dubois
Johnny Nelson has given his thoughts on the upcoming world heavyweight title clash between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois.
This all-British fight is a mouthwatering coming together of two big punchers. Both men will step into the ring on good form and on winning runs following losses to Oleksandr Usyk
Joshua has been on a four-fight winning streak since April last year having beaten Jermaine Franklin before then knocking out Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou, all of which seem to have helped him find his early career form.
Dubois meanwhile has also put together his two best wins. Firstly he managed to weather a storm from American Jarrell Miller last December to stop his man in the last few seconds of the 10th and final round, then repeated the trick against Fillip Hrgovic in June when he stopped him in eight after taking plenty of fire early on.
That performance has weighed on the mind of former world champion turned pundit Johnny Nelson who, speaking to Seconds Out, had a warning for Dubois ahead of the defence of his IBF title at Wembley in September.

“Daniel Dubois needs to not get hit as often. He showed tremendous heart [in his last fight], he showed steely determination but he also showed he could be hit and you can’t afford to get hit that often by Anthony Joshua. That’s not hearsay, that’s fact. And if he gets hit that often by Anthony Joshua he’s getting knocked out.
He’s got to put him under pressure, fight at an unorthodox pace and rhythm and he’s got to put it on him, ’cause if he gives him that space, that distance, ‘AJ’ will knock him out.”
Should Joshua come through, he has been called out to have a huge fight with Martin Bakole in Africa but is more likely to target the winner of the Usyk-Tyson Fury rematch in December
