“He’s in no rush to get in the ring.” Hearn discussed the future plans of Devin Haney

The head of Matchroom’s promotional company, Eddie Hearn, commented on the future plans of former two-division world champion Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs).

“At the moment, it’s likely that everyone will be calling for a Haney rematch with Ryan. But that won’t happen until at least the middle of next year.

What will you do until then? Will you continue in the super lightweight division? Or will you move up to welterweight? It’s important to choose the right fight. Devin still wants a lot of money for a fight. He’s earned a lot, but now it’s a situation where you really have to want it.

I’m not saying you won’t see Devin Haney in the ring, but I don’t think he’s in a hurry to return,” said Hearn.

In April, Haney lost to Ryan Garcia. The fight was marred by controversy due to Ryan’s positive doping test.

Garcia has been officially suspended for a year for using banned substances before the fight against Haney.

In August, the former world champion announced his imminent return to the ring.

“He’s Crazy” Oleksandr Usyk Is Certain Who Wins Terence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez Fight

Terence Crawford has made it clear that a fight against Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez is his main motivation left in the sport.

The American pound-for-pound star has been targeting the unified super-middleweight champion ever since his career defining victory over Errol Spence Jr last year

When he failed to lure the Mexican into the ring he stepped up to super-welterweight and won the WBA belt on his debut at the weight class against Israil Madrimov.

The man originally willing to financially back the Canelo clash, Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh, has since removed his interest in making it happen but claimed we may never see ‘Bud’ back in the ring if he can’t land the fight.

“I don’t think Crawford will fight anyone except Canelo.

This is my opinion. This is what I feel, but it is about him. We gave him an offer for [Vergil] Ortiz and I don’t know if he will take it or not. We have an agreement to do a big fight for Ortiz if Crawford doesn’t take the fight … But I don’t think [Crawford] will take it.

If the match-up can be made, then current unified heavyweight champion and fellow pound-for-pound great Oleksandr Usyk told the 3 Knockdown Rule that he would expect the naturally smaller man to get his hand raised.

“I like Terence. He’s a crazy man.

Terence win. Listen, Terence is different man. Terence works on two sides. Right and left, he’s very smart man. He feels distance and space.”

“Canelo big, yeah, good boxer, but I say, Terence. Terence can box him like a big guy.”

Whilst fans wait to see what Crawford will do next, Canelo is back in the ring on September 14 against unbeaten fighter Edger Berlanga.

Simone Biles is back! Olympic legend returns to gymnastic training just weeks after Paris success

Simone Biles is back to her training routine following a terrific performance at the Paris Olympics.

The Team USA gymnastics star collected another three gold medals and a silver to bring her total to 11 overall (including seven golds) in her Olympic career.

But the 27-year-old is apparently done resting as she posted an Instagram story of a gymnastics facility on Saturday

Biles is not in the photo herself but captioned the snap ‘first day back,’ suggesting that she was getting back to her normal preparations.

Additionally, a Texas state flag was seen in the picture, so it’s likely that Biles was practicing in her home state.

As part of a team including Jordan Chiles, Sunisa Lee, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera, Biles collected a gold medal for the team competition in Paris, as well as the vault and all-around individually.

She also picked up a silver medal individually in the floor exercise.

Biles will soon hit the road for the Gold Over America Tour this fall alongside USA teammate Chiles and a host of other gymnasts.

The tour is scheduled to run from September 16 to November 3 and hit the likes of Chicago, Los Angeles and Brooklyn.

Biles has kept busy following her Olympics success, as she cheered on husband Jonathan Owens in a Bears preseason game.

However, the Olympian caught some flack after her custom jacket featuring pictures of Owens on it displayed a large Packers logo – her husband’s former team and a fierce division rival of the Bears.

Biles has also been updating fans on the progress of the mansion that she and Owens are having constructed in Texas.

The house is apparently close to completion, and she revealed that she was ‘So excited to make this house a HOME [in] a couple more months.’

Mike Tyson “I Don’t Agree With That” Gives Honest Ringside Verdict On Terence Crawford-Madrimov

Terence Crawford became a four-division world champion at the first time of asking earlier this month.

The 36-year-old from Omaha relinquished his undisputed status at welterweight to enter the 154 ranks and face Israil Madrimov for the WBA World Title

Although Crawford ended an eleven fight stoppage streak, he did secure victory with a unanimous decision on the cards after showing flashes of his brilliance punctuated by the awkward and effective style of Madrimov.

Speaking on the Impaulsive podcast, former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson gave his verdict on the fight after sitting front row. Although he was glad ‘Bud’ got the victory, he says he shouldn’t have taken it in the first place.

“I just came from Crawford’s last fight. I thought that was a tough guy and I’m glad [Crawford] came back the last two rounds. The guy was very awkward and strong.

Crawford fights anybody – I don’t agree with that, cause you gotta look good in order to not mess up your next fight. You fight this guy and don’t look good the fans are gonna go ‘ah I don’t wanna see this, he’s not gonna look good against the next guy.’ You gotta constantly have fights that you know a fighter is gonna make you look good. The guy’s gotta pressure you.

[Madrimov] was running around. Crawford’s not used to this kind of movement. Awkward as a motherf***er.”

‘Iron’ Mike knows the sport well, as, post-fight, interest in Crawford making a further weight jump to face super-middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez waned. Some analysts and fighters used his performance in this latest division as a measuring stick for further moves up and advised him to stay put for the foreseeable.

Crawford likely won’t listen to the advice, and it has been reported that the Canelo fight is in fact the only one he is interested in. Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh – the man behind the biggest events in the sport right now – recently said he believes ‘Bud’ will turn down an offer to face Vergil Ortiz at super-welter.

“He’s Going To Be A Problem” Roy Jones Jr Predicts Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford

Terence Crawford wants to test himself in the ultimate way – a two weight-class jump to face Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez.

It is a fight that ‘Bud’ has wanted ever since he became the undisputed welterweight champion last summer when he dismantled Errol Spence Jr inside the distance.

Since then, he has moved up to 154lbs and won a world title at the first time of asking by beating Israil Madrimov on points earlier this month.

Canelo is also a man who has successfully moved up the weights to win tiles from super-welterweight up to light heavyweight and currently holds three of the four belts in the super-middleweight division.

He has blown hot and cold on whether or not he would face Crawford, but talks certainly won’t be happening before he steps through the ropes against Edgar Berlanga on September 14.

In the meantime, one man who knows a thing or two about moving up through the divisions to win titles is Roy Jones Jr, who did so from middleweight to heavyweight.

Speaking to Mill City Boxing, he has given his view on how the fight would go between the two pound-for-pound greats.

“With Canelo, I like Terence, but I’m going to lean towards ‘Canelo’ with his size early but if he lets Terence get into the fight Terence going to be a problem and if Terence can deal with the size, Terence will beat him.”

He was then asked how ‘Bud’ would deal with Canelo’s power.

“That’s what I’m saying, we don’t know until we see Terence get hit, cause we haven’t seen him get hit with that power. That’s the deciding factor. If you can change Bud’s fight plan you got a chance of beating him, but if you can’t hurt him, you can’t change his fight plan, and you got problems.”

Terence Crawford is also being linked with a fight with hot welterweight champion Jaron ‘Boots Ennis which Jones thinks could be an even contest, although Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh believes the 36-year-old only wants Canelo.

“He Knows It, i will eat him” Retired Heavyweight Champion Says He Would ‘Eat Tyson Fury For Breakfast

Tyson Fury has only ever lost one professional fight so far.

That came back in May when he stepped into the ring with Oleksandr Usyk to compete for all four of the major world titles. It was the first undisputed fight in almost 25 years and saw Fury come out on the wrong side of a points decision after a close contest over 12 rounds.

In December this year, ‘The Gypsy King’ has a chance to avenge the loss and immediately after the first fight spoke of having too much fun in the ring and how he will improve.

His corner came under some fire for mixed messages in the later rounds but he has since confirmed he will stick with the same team second time round.

While he may still be considered one of the best fighters of his generation, former world champion Frank Bruno doesn’t think that makes him an all-time great

He told DAZN that Fury would not have lasted back in his heyday of the 1980s and 1990s.

“I wish Tyson fury the best but he knows deep down in his heart that if he was around in the days that I was younger I would eat him for dinner and breakfast as well. I’m not going to sit here and disrespect him but we’re talking about the era I’ve been through, he’s living in a different cloud to what cloud I was on.”

Bruno lived during a time when the likes of Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson were world champions. He fought both Hall of Famers but recently revealed that in fact it was fellow champion James “Bonecrusher” Smith who hit harder than both of them.

“He Can’t Afford To Do That” Johnny Nelson Delivers KO Verdict For Anthony Joshua-Daniel Dubois

Johnny Nelson has given his thoughts on the upcoming world heavyweight title clash between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois.

This all-British fight is a mouthwatering coming together of two big punchers. Both men will step into the ring on good form and on winning runs following losses to Oleksandr Usyk

Joshua has been on a four-fight winning streak since April last year having beaten Jermaine Franklin before then knocking out Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou, all of which seem to have helped him find his early career form.

Dubois meanwhile has also put together his two best wins. Firstly he managed to weather a storm from American Jarrell Miller last December to stop his man in the last few seconds of the 10th and final round, then repeated the trick against Fillip Hrgovic in June when he stopped him in eight after taking plenty of fire early on.

That performance has weighed on the mind of former world champion turned pundit Johnny Nelson who, speaking to Seconds Out, had a warning for Dubois ahead of the defence of his IBF title at Wembley in September.

“Daniel Dubois needs to not get hit as often. He showed tremendous heart [in his last fight], he showed steely determination but he also showed he could be hit and you can’t afford to get hit that often by Anthony Joshua. That’s not hearsay, that’s fact. And if he gets hit that often by Anthony Joshua he’s getting knocked out.

He’s got to put him under pressure, fight at an unorthodox pace and rhythm and he’s got to put it on him, ’cause if he gives him that space, that distance, ‘AJ’ will knock him out.”

Should Joshua come through, he has been called out to have a huge fight with Martin Bakole in Africa but is more likely to target the winner of the Usyk-Tyson Fury rematch in December

“I Will Not Hide It” Usyk Rates The Power Of Anthony Joshua And Tyson Fury After Beating Both

Oleksandr Usyk has beaten five Brits in the last six years, the most notable being Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

After knocking out Tony Bellew in his last cruiserweight fight, the Ukrainian moved up to heavyweight in the hope of becoming undisputed in a second division

He beat Derek Chisora before taking the unified titles from Joshua via unanimous decision and keeping hold of them in the rematch with a split decision.

A stoppage of Daniel Dubois served as his second defence before he scored another split decision win against Fury in their long-awaited undisputed clash.

Speaking at a press conference in his home country following the Joshua bout, Usyk said that one of Joshua’s punches ‘sent him to Elon Musk’ for a while before his fighting focus was re-established.

“There were quite tangible blows. You can see it on my face too. There was a cut when we hit our heads. Then a light blow from his jab broke an eyebrow, which was flooding my right eye with blood.

“I will not hide that there were very sensitive blows to the chin, to the stomach, which sent me to Elon Musk for a while, but I quickly returned. In battle, adrenaline and emotions are so overwhelming that you feel it after the battle – pain, dizziness and everything else. In the ring, you are very focused on your actions.”

Joshua would typically be recognised as the bigger puncher when discussed with Fury, but speaking to the 3 Knockdown Rule podcast Usyk held ‘The Gypsy King’s power in high regard, too – particularly one uppercut.

” I got uppercut you know, it’s like very pain. Hard pain. I feel maybe 10 seconds I say ‘hey, God, thank you, help me.’ I say to myself ‘hey Alex, move, move. If you stop, he’ll kill you.’”

His manager Egis Klimas then added what Usyk said to him about the uppercut after the fight.

oleksandr usyk

“It was such a big pain I can explain only one thing, it felt like my tooth came out.”

What the Ukrainian felt was an old dental implant being impacted rather than the broken jaw Fury had claimed to have inflicted. After taking the best shots from Joshua, Dubois and Fury, Usyk still maintains that it was Chisora who hit him hardest

“Dubois Shook Me To My Core When He Hit Me” Anthony Joshua Sent Serious Warning By Top Heavyweight

An all-action, all-British world heavyweight title fight is now just around the corner.

In September, two of the form men in the division will come together to battle it out for the IBF world title at Wembley Stadium.

In one corner is the experienced former two-time champion Anthony Joshua who has knocked out his last three opponents. In the other corner is the younger man Daniel Dubois. He is the current belt holder and is coming off the back of two of the best wins of his career, both of which were stoppages over Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic.

Speaking to Seconds Out, rising heavyweight star Johnny Fisher was asked what will happen when Joshua and Dubois meet and picked the power of ‘AJ’, but warned him that Dubois has the power to ‘shake you to your absolute core;.

“Definitely Anthony Joshua, but not the margin that people would suspect. I reckon it’s like a 55/60-45/40 split in favour of Anthony Joshua. Dubois can seriously whack. I’ve sparred him loads. His right hands can shake you to your absolute core. I remember I got hit by one it was like an electric shock going to your body. Then again I’ve not spared Anthony Joshua and I know how hard he can hit from who he’s knocked out and what he has done to people.”

Fisher, who fights next against Andriy Rudenko on September 28, then spoke of Dubois’ best assets and the confidence he will have from his recent victories.

“The jab of Dubois as well is like a right hand. I know I ain’t spared Joshua but Dubois is no joke going off great wins like Miller and Hrgovic. Hrgovic has been the bogey man for the last two, three years so it’s not going to be an easy night for Joshua but the amount of right hands Hrgovic hit Dubois with, if Joshua lands these it’s going to be night-night.”

Whoever comes out on top will be hoping to get a shot at the undisputed title against whoever wins the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury in December.

“He Destroys Everyone” GGG’s Trainer Abel Sanchez Has No Doubt Who Wins Canelo-Crawford Fight: “He Destroys Everyone”

Talk of a Terence Crawford vs Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez fight will not go away.

Terence Crawford has made it clear his main motivation left in the sport is to face the unified super-middleweight champion.

After his debut win at 154lbs against Israil Madrimov, ‘Bud’ was given an offer to face Vergil Ortiz next by Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh. However, the Saudi boxing businessman said he expected it to be turned down and believes we only see the American back in the ring if a Canelo fight can be made.

One man who knows what it’s like to face Canelo more than most is Gennady Golovkin’s trainer Abel Sanchez. ‘GGG’ went head to head with the Mexican in an epic trilogy, where he was extremely unlucky to come away with one draw and two defeats.

Speaking to KO Artist Sports, Sanchez, said a potential fight between Crawford and Canelo was ‘ridiculous’, and didn’t give the naturally smaller man much chance in the contest.

“There’s no talk of a Crawford fight anymore, because that’s a nonsense. It’s a ridiculous fight because, I said it a while ago, Crawford is a great fighter but he’s been the same fighter from 135 to 147, he’s still the same fighter, he hasn’t changed anything to make him viable at the bigger weights, but Canelo has.

Crawford hasn’t been destroying his opponents, he destroyed one who was a shell of his former self, but Canelo is destroying everybody that he fights, destroying them, but Crawford’s not. Yes, it’s a good money fight but not a real fight.”

Terence crawford

The Mexican is back out on September 14 when he defends his three super-middleweight titles against Edgar Berlanga.
