“He Destroys Everyone” GGG’s Trainer Abel Sanchez Has No Doubt Who Wins Canelo-Crawford Fight: “He Destroys Everyone”
Talk of a Terence Crawford vs Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez fight will not go away.
Terence Crawford has made it clear his main motivation left in the sport is to face the unified super-middleweight champion.
After his debut win at 154lbs against Israil Madrimov, ‘Bud’ was given an offer to face Vergil Ortiz next by Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh. However, the Saudi boxing businessman said he expected it to be turned down and believes we only see the American back in the ring if a Canelo fight can be made.
One man who knows what it’s like to face Canelo more than most is Gennady Golovkin’s trainer Abel Sanchez. ‘GGG’ went head to head with the Mexican in an epic trilogy, where he was extremely unlucky to come away with one draw and two defeats.
Speaking to KO Artist Sports, Sanchez, said a potential fight between Crawford and Canelo was ‘ridiculous’, and didn’t give the naturally smaller man much chance in the contest.

“There’s no talk of a Crawford fight anymore, because that’s a nonsense. It’s a ridiculous fight because, I said it a while ago, Crawford is a great fighter but he’s been the same fighter from 135 to 147, he’s still the same fighter, he hasn’t changed anything to make him viable at the bigger weights, but Canelo has.
Crawford hasn’t been destroying his opponents, he destroyed one who was a shell of his former self, but Canelo is destroying everybody that he fights, destroying them, but Crawford’s not. Yes, it’s a good money fight but not a real fight.”
The Mexican is back out on September 14 when he defends his three super-middleweight titles against Edgar Berlanga.
