Replacing Simone Biles’ Usual, NFL WAGs Makeup Artist Dishes on How She Booked Olympics Legend
Perfectionist! That’s the word that instantly pops into your head when you think of Simone Biles, right? She’s not just the queen of gymnastics, but she’s also super into makeup, and let’s just say she’s got her own way of doing it. After the Olympics, she even shared a makeup hack before heading to a Bears pre-season game (her husband, Jonathan Owens, plays as a safety for the Chicago NFL team). In the video from August 19, Biles starts off by applying fluttery false lashes off-camera. Then she grabs a beauty blender and applies her foundation, and once that’s blended, she uses a contour stick on her nose and cheekbones. She takes a step back, admires her work, and says, “Okay, snatched.”
Next up, she adds some powder bronzer to her cheeks and eyelids, throws on a little lip liner and blush, and wraps it all up. But here’s the cool part—Biles does the last steps in a pretty unusual order to keep her makeup “extra matte.” She uses not one but two setting sprays, then follows up with powder. After drying the sprays, she goes in with setting powder using a dense brush. She even jokes, “I don’t even know if you’re supposed to do this after, but I like to make sure it’s extra matte.” Of course, she wouldn’t be doing this kind of makeup at the Olympics. She has a pro artist for that, but it looks like she’s ditched her in a way!
Biles shakes up her beauty routine with a new makeup artist
For those who know Simone Biles, her makeup artist, Alayza Casey, is the go-to for perfecting her look, especially for big events like the Olympics. Biles loves Casey’s signature style, and for the 2024 Xfinity US Gymnastics Championships, she stuck with her trusted artist. But recently, things have taken a bit of a turn. According to People, the 27-year-old has been working with a new makeup artist – Allison Kaye, a registered dietitian turned celebrity makeup artist who specializes in glam for NFL WAGs (wives and girlfriends).
Allison Kaye first gained attention on social media, particularly Instagram, where her work with NFL families started getting noticed. As her clients shared her looks, Kaye’s business grew, bringing in a steady stream of referrals. She’s a big fan of Biles, calling her a “good role model” and even mentioning that Simone being an “NFL wife” adds something extra to her appeal. Kaye credits her success to her “incredible and trustworthy work” and her growing network, especially the connections she’s built with other NFL wives. She says, “I was able to connect with her through other NFL wives who I worked on and are friends with her.”
Kaye also points out that if you don’t make the right connections and hustle, the opportunities won’t come: “You can’t just sit around!” And here’s the funny part: while Biles has been working with Kaye lately, it wasn’t Kaye who did her wedding makeup. Even it wasn’t Alayza Casey as well. But who was it?
Simone Biles’ trusted makeup artists for special occasions
Simone Biles has a pretty solid beauty routine, especially when it comes to big events and competitions. On most occasions, she lets professionals do her makeup, however, on her wedding to Jonathan Owens, she went for Global Celebrity Makeup Artist Ashley Stewart, and she did a very good job. As we’ve seen, Biles really loves to get dolled up and has a list of artists that she turns to for every event. You know what’s funny, though? Biles is actually allergic to a lot of types of lip products!
Yeah, so Biles goes for clean beauty and fragrance-free balms and lipsticks at Sephora. Some of the Lip balms she cannot do without include the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm, which gives a perfect shine and hydration, The NYX Professional Makeup Butter Gloss for creamy and glossy lips, and Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks for a hydrated and plump illusion. But the beauty prep Simone Biles doesn’t embrace only makeup in its bare essence.
When performing on the big stage, her regimen begins with her favorite hairstylist, Jazmine Johnson of New York. Next, she goes to her manicurist, Jasmine, who manicures her nails short oval with a French manicure and a little silver crystal for the Olympics. Of course, the gymnast is more particular with her choice when it comes to people and products that make her feel so good, whether she’s competing or celebrating a big life moment!
