You know what they say, ‘Life’s what you make of it,’ and Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are making the most of their first Christmas as a married couple. Isn’t it just beautiful how they’ll be spending the day together in Chicago, despite all their busy schedules? Jonathan’s got his game with the Bears against the Seattle Seahawks the very next day after Christmas, but they’re still finding time to enjoy the holiday just the two of them. Simone mentioned that this would be “really nice” because it would be their first Christmas alone together as a couple. After all the distances they’ve been through this year, that sounds like such a special moment, right?

But here’s the twist: Simone had a sacrifice to make to be with her hubby! Well, Biles won’t be spending Christmas with her family like she’s used to, and that’s gotta be tough. Her dad, aka granddad, Ronald Biles, used to make Christmas so magical for her. He really went out of his way to make her wishes come true, like that one Christmas when he did something special she’d wanted for years.

Simone Biles got her big break, but it came with a condition

Well, Simone’s dad was always about making things happen but in his own practical way. So, when Simone was gearing up for that big regional meet in 2008, the one where she needed to score high enough to qualify for Westerns, he was focused on her gymnastics goals. But Simone? Well, she had something else on her mind. “Dad, why can’t we get a dog?” she asked, which she mentioned in her memoir “Courage to Soar: A Body in Motion, A Life in Balance,“ hoping to sneak in a request while he was busy with paperwork. She and Biles’s sister, Adria, had been begging for a dog for years, every Christmas, every holiday, until one year, they even got giant stuffed animals instead.

“Look, I got you your dogs,” her dad said, smiling, thinking he’d solved the problem. But Simone wasn’t giving up that easily. Biles had a new plan. “Look how well we took care of Bo (neighbor’s dog). We’d be really responsible if we got a dog!” she said, trying to prove they were responsible enough. Her dad paused, looked at her, and for the first time, Simone thought maybe he was considering it. “Okay, Simone,” he said, tapping his pen on the table, “you’ll get your dog.

Simone couldn’t believe it. “Are you serious?” she asked, wide-eyed, seeing her persistent Christmas request turning true. There was one condition, though—it’d happen only if she qualified for the Western championship. “If you train them right, they’re protective, obedient, and playful,” he explained. Just like that, the deal was made. Simone worked hard, hit all her routines at regionals, and placed first, securing her spot for Westerns. Her dad kept his word, and they went to Heidelberg to pick out a puppy. When Simone laid eyes on a little German shepherd, it was love at first sight. “This one,” she said, and that’s how Magne Elena Biles joined their family. Since that day, Simone’s been unstoppable, conquering the world while growing her family with even more love and joy!

Simone Biles and Jonathan

Simone Biles was too nervous to tell her parents about Jonathan Owens!

A huge part of Simone Biles’s success comes from her parents, Ronald and Nellie Biles, who adopted Simone and her sister, Adria, when they were just 6 years old. Before that, Simone had a rough start. She was separated from her biological mom, spent time in foster care, and had to navigate a lot at a young age. But Simone has said that those early struggles actually set her up for a better life.

When Simone showed an interest in gymnastics at age 6, her parents didn’t waste a second. They signed her up for classes after her coaches noticed her natural talent, and the rest is history. They didn’t miss a single competition—except for one when COVID kept them away at the Tokyo Olympics. In the midst of all her accomplishments, Simone’s life took another turn in 2020 when she met Jonathan Owens. At first, Simone was nervous about introducing Jonathan to her parents. She was worried that they might not like him, joking that her parents could be a bit “harsh.”

But once Jonathan met her family, everything clicked. Simone recalls how it all “clashed really well,” and soon, her parents were inviting him over without her even being there. Fast forward to 2022, when Simone got engaged to Jonathan after two years of dating. Leading up to their wedding in May 2023, Simone’s mom played a huge role in helping her plan the big day, offering advice and support every step of the way. Simone looks to her parents as role models for the love and support they’ve shown her, and now, with Jonathan by her side, she’s living a happy life. The couple shares their home with two French bulldogs, Lilo and Rambo, while Jonathan’s bulldog, Zeus, completes their little family. Life for Simone and Jonathan is all about love, happiness, and the special bond they share with their families.

Simone Biles’ Monday Night Football appearance is making waves! She showed up to cheer for her husband at the match between the Chicago Beras and the San Fransico 49ers in an all-black luxury ensemble! However, her romantic moment with her husband on the sidelines overshadowed everything else!

The two shared a moment before the game commenced, which comprised a warm conversation, a special pregame handshake, and a love-filled kiss along the sidelines. As the cameras captured the moment, ESPN posted it on social media calling it “Relationship goals fr.”

However, Jonathan Owens made a special confession via it. Reposting the same on his Instagram story, he wrote, “Forever locked in with my baby” with an emoji of the crossed fingers! Truly, he knows how to make even the smallest moments worth it for Simone Biles!

Simone Biles has had a year full of triumphs that are hard to top. After the emotional rollercoaster of the Tokyo Olympics, where she withdrew due to mental health struggles, she made an unforgettable comeback in Paris 2024. She didn’t just return—she absolutely dominated, winning three gold medals and one silver. That moment was just one highlight in her incredible year, which also included the Gold Over America tour, where she spread her magic across the country. But it doesn’t stop there; Simone’s journey is beautifully captured in her Netflix documentary, Simone Biles: Rising, which gives an intimate look into her life, both as an elite athlete and as a person facing huge challenges.

The docuseries, which debuted ahead of the 2024 Olympics, really took off, resonating with so many. It’s not just about the medals and the glory, but it shows the real, raw side of her journey: all the struggles, the mental battles, and the toxic side of gymnastics that she had to face. We get to see the real Simone, the one who’s been through so much but still comes out on top. In the second part of the series, we also see how her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, has been by her side through all the pressure and the ups and downs. It’s been such an inspiring ride for her, and it’s no wonder that the documentary is gaining so much praise.

That might explain why the doc is getting so much love. Recently, it claimed two Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Sports Documentary and Best Limited Documentary Series. And now, it is nominated for a Producers Guild of America (PGA) Award for Outstanding Sports Program! It’s up against some big names, like Formula 1: Both Drive to Survive and Messi’s World Cup are absolutely compelling, but Simone’s tale is one that resonates. The PGA Awards are scheduled for February 8, 2024, and given all the hype, what other accolades could be on the horizon for her—this could be the third award for the doc in 2023 alone! But what was the award count Simone Biles received if her awards were also to be included?

Simone Biles

Simone Biles just achieved the impossible!

Simone Biles has quite literally given us a real-life example of what a comeback means! After withdrawing from the Tokyo Olympics due to the, ahh, twisties—you know, when she got all confused in midair—she came back in style to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics. And just when we couldn’t imagine how it could get any better, she accepted an ESPY Award for the Best Comeback Performance in 2024. She even could accept it remotely in the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, conducted by Serena Williams—what a comeback! But that is even cooler because Simone is the first Black woman to ever win that award. And it’s now been three years running that Black athletes are taking home this prize. Truly amazing!

Then came the Paris Olympics, where Simone really showed the world that she was back in top form. She came home with four medals—three gold and one silver! She snagged gold in the all-around, vault, and team all-around (alongside teammates like Suni Lee and Jordan Chiles). On top of that, she got silver in the floor exercise, with Chiles taking bronze after a little scoring shuffle. Now, with 11 Olympic medals to her name, Simone is a gymnastics legend. Even with all these hurdles, Simone kept pushing, and honestly, it’s this kind of resilience that makes her journey so inspiring. From Rio to Tokyo to Paris, her story just keeps getting better and better!

Simone Biles opens up on how she helps Jonathan Owens prepare for game day and their first Christmas together

One of the most talented couples in the world of sports is the Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles and her husband Jonathan Owens, safety for the Chicago Bears. Simone Biles has exclusively spoken to PEOPLE where she gave their fans a glimpse into this talented couple’s daily life, especially during the NFL season. When asked about how the couple prepare for each NFL match, Biles opened up about their personal life and spoke about how before any match, she likes to give Owens some time to himself so that he can gear himself up for the match. As Biles explained, this actually comes from her own experience since she knows how much the time before any match can be extremely stressful. Biles then spoke about how Owens actually takes out time to go see her and kiss her goodbye before he leaves for the match since he usually has to stay at the team hotel before any match even if they have travelled together.

Simone Biles And Jonathan Owens Have A Routine For Before And After An NFL Match

simone biles

But it is not just the ritual for before the game that they follow. Both Jonathan and Biles also have a ritual of their own to follow for after an NFL match ends, be it Jonathan’s team, the Chicago Bears losing or winning. Once Owens wraps up the match and bids his teammates goodbye, Owens meets up with his wife and they head to dinner. They also welcome any close friends or family members who had arrived to support Owens for the match on that particular day.

Their dinner at a restaurant is the time when they actually talk about the match that Owens just played. They discuss the match and talk about what really happened on the field. So, this is more like “their” time in a way where Owens can just be himself and talk about what he felt during the match about his performance or about the team without any judgement. This really shows how much the couple support each other in their careers which became more evident when few months ago Biles was in Paris to perform for the Olympics, and Owens had taken a leave for some after taking permission from his team and the NFL to fly to Paris and support his wife.

Simone Biles And Jonathan Owens Will Be Spending This Christmas Away From Their Families

Discussing their Christmas plans, Biles told PEOPLE how she has taken the initiative to decorate the house and is more or less done with it but the Christmas tree has not been set yet. She said to PEOPLE, “I’ve been begging Jonathan to go down in the basement and to get the tree.”
Biles also revealed how this would be their first Christmas together as a couple when they are alone and not joined by any extended family members and she is really looking forward to it.

The 1 workout Simone Biles says she cannot do to save her life: ‘It’s not for me’

Biles said she found the exercise to be “too hard.”

Kelly Clarkson is relieved to know that Simone Biles is just like us.

On “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Biles who is known as the greatest gymnast of all time, revealed why she posted an Instagram story in early December about not liking Pilates.

In the story, Biles said that this was her “first time working out since the Olympics” in August and she found the exercise to be “too hard.”

“I hear that we have something in common,” Clarkson said on the Dec. 12, episode of her show, adding that she doesn’t like Pilates either.

The talk show host explained that she thought the class was more difficult in New York than in L.A. However, Biles said that she didn’t think that was necessarily true.

“I think it’s everywhere because I cannot do it to save my life,” she said with a laugh.

“It’s so hard,” Clarkson replied. “My legs were trembling.”

Biles agreed and said the workout put her legs through the wringer as well. That’s why she took every opportunity to rest during class.

“My legs were trembling and when the teacher wasn’t looking, I was cheating,” she laughed.

“It’s not for me,” Biles added.

Clarkson said she did the same thing and to hear an athlete like Biles also struggled doing Pilates made her feel better about herself.

“It made me feel good that you weren’t good,” Clarkson said. “It made me feel better about myself. I was like, she’s an Olympic gold medalist. She’s the GOAT. She can’t do it, neither can I.”

Replacing Simone Biles’ Usual, NFL WAGs Makeup Artist Dishes on How She Booked Olympics Legend

Perfectionist! That’s the word that instantly pops into your head when you think of Simone Biles, right? She’s not just the queen of gymnastics, but she’s also super into makeup, and let’s just say she’s got her own way of doing it. After the Olympics, she even shared a makeup hack before heading to a Bears pre-season game (her husband, Jonathan Owens, plays as a safety for the Chicago NFL team). In the video from August 19, Biles starts off by applying fluttery false lashes off-camera. Then she grabs a beauty blender and applies her foundation, and once that’s blended, she uses a contour stick on her nose and cheekbones. She takes a step back, admires her work, and says, “Okay, snatched.”

Next up, she adds some powder bronzer to her cheeks and eyelids, throws on a little lip liner and blush, and wraps it all up. But here’s the cool part—Biles does the last steps in a pretty unusual order to keep her makeup “extra matte.” She uses not one but two setting sprays, then follows up with powder. After drying the sprays, she goes in with setting powder using a dense brush. She even jokes, “I don’t even know if you’re supposed to do this after, but I like to make sure it’s extra matte.” Of course, she wouldn’t be doing this kind of makeup at the Olympics. She has a pro artist for that, but it looks like she’s ditched her in a way!

Biles shakes up her beauty routine with a new makeup artist

For those who know Simone Biles, her makeup artist, Alayza Casey, is the go-to for perfecting her look, especially for big events like the Olympics. Biles loves Casey’s signature style, and for the 2024 Xfinity US Gymnastics Championships, she stuck with her trusted artist. But recently, things have taken a bit of a turn. According to People, the 27-year-old has been working with a new makeup artist – Allison Kaye, a registered dietitian turned celebrity makeup artist who specializes in glam for NFL WAGs (wives and girlfriends).

Allison Kaye first gained attention on social media, particularly Instagram, where her work with NFL families started getting noticed. As her clients shared her looks, Kaye’s business grew, bringing in a steady stream of referrals. She’s a big fan of Biles, calling her a “good role model” and even mentioning that Simone being an “NFL wife” adds something extra to her appeal. Kaye credits her success to her “incredible and trustworthy work” and her growing network, especially the connections she’s built with other NFL wives. She says, “I was able to connect with her through other NFL wives who I worked on and are friends with her.”

Simone Biles

Kaye also points out that if you don’t make the right connections and hustle, the opportunities won’t come: “You can’t just sit around!” And here’s the funny part: while Biles has been working with Kaye lately, it wasn’t Kaye who did her wedding makeup. Even it wasn’t Alayza Casey as well. But who was it?

Simone Biles’ trusted makeup artists for special occasions

Simone Biles has a pretty solid beauty routine, especially when it comes to big events and competitions. On most occasions, she lets professionals do her makeup, however, on her wedding to Jonathan Owens, she went for Global Celebrity Makeup Artist Ashley Stewart, and she did a very good job. As we’ve seen, Biles really loves to get dolled up and has a list of artists that she turns to for every event. You know what’s funny, though? Biles is actually allergic to a lot of types of lip products!

Yeah, so Biles goes for clean beauty and fragrance-free balms and lipsticks at Sephora. Some of the Lip balms she cannot do without include the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm, which gives a perfect shine and hydration, The NYX Professional Makeup Butter Gloss for creamy and glossy lips, and Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks for a hydrated and plump illusion. But the beauty prep Simone Biles doesn’t embrace only makeup in its bare essence.

When performing on the big stage, her regimen begins with her favorite hairstylist, Jazmine Johnson of New York. Next, she goes to her manicurist, Jasmine, who manicures her nails short oval with a French manicure and a little silver crystal for the Olympics. Of course, the gymnast is more particular with her choice when it comes to people and products that make her feel so good, whether she’s competing or celebrating a big life moment!

Simone Biles is keeping warm this winter, and looking damn good while doing so.

Today, the seven-time Olympic gold medal gymnast dropped a new selfie on her Instagram Story. Biles was in an elevator which, much like her fashions, were going up a level.

In the reflective selfie, Biles is wearing a black coat with matching leggings and high heels. Her look is complete with a sleek black Chanel clutch and a furry hat.

Biles has been having fun with her fashions lately. During Thanksgiving weekend, she debuted a shorter bob, while rocking some cozy sweats. In the days since, she’s been rocking new braids, which she showed off in a bikini selfie taken last week while in Miami. It was during this same trip when Biles attended events for Audemars Piguet. During the festivities, she posed for photos with Serena Williams, as well as model Winnie Harlow — and upon sharing these photos, fans couldn’t help but notice major height differences between 4-foot-8 Biles and these women.

But still, it looks like Biles has been fun. As evidenced by a photo carousel from the Audemars Piguet, she engaged in some “goated conversations” with some of the greats in the realm of sports and fashion.

‘We Will Miss You’: Simone Biles’ Former Coach Pens Heartfelt Note as Incredible Journey Comes to an End

They say it’s about the journey, and not the destination. Lucky for Simone Biles, both of these have been incredible for her. The gymnastics GOAT has spent a significant part of her life at the World Champions Centre, putting in the hours to perfect her skills, the results of which have been evident to the world at several Olympic Games. But these stupendous achievements were also a testament to the prowess of the people who helped guide the way. But all good things come to an end.

In her Instagram story from December 10, Biles’ former coach Cecile Landi shared an emotional message as her husband Laurent exits from the iconic gym. Cecile left the gymnastics training center months ago and is currently the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs. Now, with her husband also on his way out, the Landis’ time at the WCC has officially ended, and the former French Olympian is having a bittersweet moment.

We had 7 amazing years at WCC,” she wrote in the recent social media update, highlighting how working with Simon has been incredible. Ever since the Landis joined the WCC in 2017, they’ve watched Biles blossom into the world’s best gymnast, with other stars like Jordan Chiles joining along the way. Cecile shared the original post of the official WCC Insta account, which also noted its emotions as Laurent looks ahead to the future.

Farewell to Coach Laurent! You will be greatly missed at WCC. Lots of laughs and tears were shed as WCC is so grateful for the dedication,” reads the caption of the OG post, and Cecile also felt the sadness. “We will miss you,” wrote Landi in her IG update, as she noted her gratefulness for being able to be a part of the exhilarating ride. She also thanked all the athletes, staff, and the owners of the establishment for their continued support in the Landis’ endeavors.

The WCC is owned by Simone Biles’ parents: Ron and Nellie. Understandably, having such an infrastructure at her disposal almost warranted the Houston native’s success in her career. But Cecile and Laurent have also achieved incredible success there as they guided Team USA to triumph at several national and international events. However, the support has been mutual, to say the least!

Simone Biles

Simone Biles returns the favor in every possible way

The Landis were reputed coaches even before they crossed paths with the gymnastics phenom. Laurent and Cecile’s coaching journey began back in France but shifted their base to the US in 2004. After a few years of finding the right place to set up shop, the couple settled down at WOGA Gymnastics in Texas in 2007. Under their able guidance, Alyssa Baumann bagged gold at the 2014 World Championships, proving the Landis’ abilities as skilled coaches. When they saw Simone making the sport look beautiful at the 2016 Rio Games, it wasn’t a difficult decision to move again to begin their titular collaboration with the latter.

Cecile’s vehement support for Biles has been one of the main reasons for the latter’s impeccable track record as an artistic gymnast. “An athlete like Simone would never have reached her full potential in France. Because she would have been put aside because she didn’t fit that box,” Landi said about Simone, and the 7x Olympic gold medalist also hailed Cecile for her relentless cheers at every step of the way, saying, “They’ve helped me a lot not just in the gym but out of the gym, too.” It was with the help of the Landis that Biles mastered the Yurchenko Double Pike, as well as perfecting her eponymous skill, the Biles II.

When Landi was announced as the next head coach for the Bulldogs program, Simone was among the first people to encourage her to embark on the next big adventure. The Georgia team, although considered an NCAA powerhouse, hasn’t seen many high points in recent years, and Cecile was expected the change the situation. With years of experience together, Biles knew there was hardly anyone better for the job, and wrote on social media, “No one deserves this more.” Now that’s what we call rallying behind each other’s cause! Won’t you agree?

After Cecile’s new responsibility at Georgia was announced by the school in April, Nellie Biles mentioned that Laurent would continue to spearhead the training at WCC. With the two coaches being the head coaches for Team USA at multiple World Championships and Olympics, it was only logical to continue the partnership. Moreover, Laurent maintained a special stance on how to help the athletes soar, as he noted, “It’s not the athlete that needs to adjust to the coaches,” Laurent Landi said. “The coaches need to adjust to the athletes and the athlete’s abilities.”

Right after the Paris Games concluded, Biles shared a cryptic message online, that made many speculate that she was nearing her gymnastics career end. “End of an era. it’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later,” she wrote on IG, and many started scratching their heads. However, in retrospect, it could have been the parting message to hail her coach one more time before Cecile left the WCC to head to Georgia. And now, it remains to be seen what life has in store for Laurent as he turns his gaze beyond the WCC. What do you reckon will be his next big project? Tell us your predictions in the comments!

Simone Biles and Serena Williams share a good bond, despite being from different sports. But sometimes, unnecessary comments on celebrities’ posts create a fuss and sour moment. Recently, Williams and Biles met each other at an event jointly organized by Vanity Fair, Female Quotient, and Audemars Piguet, and their fans are elated seeing them together. But with love, some annoying comments also pour in.

Simone Biles took to her Instagram and somehow returned the favor to Williams and posted a carousel of events, including one with Williams. What did she caption? “Goated conversations.” Short, simple, and friendly response to Williams’ Instagram post about the same event. But one netizen commented on Biles’ post, “Humble yourself a little bit, could ya?” It seems an unnecessary remark, and Biles responded with a perfect reply. What did she say? “Oh, there’s always one. Imao.” Williams also commented on Biles’ post with a simple ‘Love.’

7-time Olympic gold medalist, Biles is considered one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. The same title has also been given to her by 23 Grand Slam title winner Serena Williams. After the event, Williams posted a few pictures on Instagram with the caption, “Yesterday, I sat with the goat, @simonebiles, at an EVENING OF IMPACTFUL CONVERSATION with @audemarspiguet, @vanityfair, @femalequotient, and a house full of women. I love to see it.” The GOAT nod from Williams is surely a massive respect for Biles.

Supporting and showing love for each other shows that both legends respect each other, and it’s not a one-way street. The love and respect between two GOATs from different sports is a sign of humbleness towards each other and their sports as well.

Serena Williams and Simone Biles

Simone Biles and Serena Williams are considered top players in their respective sports. While Biles is a most decorated gymnast with 11 Olympic medals, including 7 golds, Williams retired from tennis as one of the greatest athletes and uses their platform to advocate for mental health and empowerment. Both of them came together and supported entrepreneurs through the event.

Simone Biles and Serena Williams came together to inspire others

Gymnast Biles and tennis player Williams kicked off the event and inspired all the people out there. Serena dropped many gems about her venture capital and expressed her dedication to helping entrepreneurs of color and breaking barriers outside of the tennis arena. Meanwhile, Biles shared her views about mental health and how she tries to use the platform to make a change.

The event kicked off the Art Basel weekend, which is famous for celebrity parties, cultural activations, and fashion shows. And their presence provided an extra dose of star power. Where was the event organized, and who else participated?

The event was organized in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, a neighborhood in New York. Who all attended the event along with Biles and Williams? Serena Williams’ mentee, Danielle Pierson, founder of email newsletter company ‘The Newsette,’ was also featured. They both had a great conversation along with V.F. editor-in-chief Radhika Jones. As the event got better, let’s hope for bigger things to come in the future.

‘I’ve always been a Simone fan’ – Gabby Thomas on her admiration for Simone Biles’ mental health advocacy, Paris Olympics achievements

Simone Biles is an 11-time Olympic medalist and one of the greatest gymnast of all time.

Paris Olympics 200m champion Gabby Thomas has revealed her admiration for the good job her compatriot Simon Biles is doing outside of sports.

In a conversation with Ali Feller at the All on the Run show, Thomas said Biles’ mental health advocacy makes her stand out and her performance and record as a gymnast is iconic.

“I’ve always been a Simone fan, I’ve been such a fan, and even more so after Tokyo and watching her advocate for herself and advocate for every athlete and human who struggles with mental health,” Thomas said.

Biles managed three medals at the Paris Olympic Games (2 gold and 1 silver). Her 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals make her the most decorated gymnast in history. Biles, 27, is widely regarded as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time and one of the greatest Olympians of all time.

Thomas, 28,  won bronze in 200m at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and silver as part of the USA women’s 4x100m relay. After the Paris Games, the pair met at the WNBA game where Biles adviced Thomas if her words are to be believed.

Simone Biles

“She’s had so much wisdom to share with me, even though we’re the same age, but she was absolutely incredible. She’s further ahead in her career than I am, athletically, and so I really felt like I got to learn from her, and it was really meaningful and impactful for me,” Thomas observed.

Gabby Thomas will hope to be in her element ahead of her debut in the Michael Johnson’s Grand Slam that is set for April 2025, in Kingston, Jamaica, before ultimately setting the world ablaze at the World Championships in Tokyo.
