“They Knew Already” Eddie Hearn Reveals What The Corner Told Crawford Before Last Round Against Madrimov: “They Knew”

Eddie Hearn immediately made his frustrations clear after his fighter, Israil Madrimov, lost a close decision on the scorecards to Terence Crawford.

Terence Crawford made his return to the ring earlier this month after more than a year out from his career defining performance against Errol Spence Jr.

His eleven fight knockout street came to an end on his 154lb debut against Madrimov, edging a decision on points with the official scores of 116-112, 115-113, 115-113. After the fight Madrimov’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, said he was ‘frustrated’ with the judging

“Yeah I was a little bit frustrated at the end, I though it was actually two 116-112’s and I don’t understand how you can only give Madrimov four rounds in that fight. 115-133 is a close fight, after ten rounds I was convinced we were up and it’s an argument as to whether Crawford won the eleventh, he definitely won the twelfth.”

Hearn said he was sitting right by Crawford’s corner and revealed they told him how important that last round wound be.

“You saw the way he came out for the twelfth, because they told him, I was right by his corner, they knew he they had to win that last round, they knew how close that fight was and I was just a bit frustrated that it wasn’t a split or we didn’t get a little bit more respect, one of the judges has Crawford winning the last four rounds and the first four rounds and I just don’t see that, I thought Madrimov wont he fight 7-5.”

Crawford is now on the lookout for his next opponent with a fight against Vergil Ortiz wanted by Turki Alalshikh.

‘His Tactics Exposed’ Hall Of Fame Legend Says Terence Crawford Got ‘Exposed’ Against Israil Madrimov

Terence Crawford is now a four-weight world champion after defeating Israil Madrimov on his debut at 154lb.

The undefeated American stepped up from welterweight, where he became undisputed after a career defining performance against Errol Spence Jr, and jumped straight into a title fight against the man many believed to be the best at super-welterweight.

The contest was a cagey affair with neither fighter letting the other have prolonged periods of success.

Crawford was taken the distance for the first time in eleven fights and edged a close victory with official scores of 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113.

Talking to Sean Zittel about ‘Bud’s performance, Hall of Fame fighter turned promoter Oscar De La Hoya, said Crawford got ‘exposed’ that night and that Vergil Ortiz is the fighter to dethrone the 36-year-old.

“Oh Vergil has better skills, I literally think he has better skills so it’s not just the punching power.

Yes Crawford has ring IQ like there is no tomorrow but he was exposed against Madrimov, he was exposed that night. Exposed in a way that if you change up your style, if you don’t stay in front of Crawford, ok, if you’re a target right in front of him he’ll pick you apart, but if you’re on your toes and you’re throwing your jabs and throwing your hooks and your combinations he has trouble figuring you out.

With Vergil Ortiz’ power and speed and ring generalship it can be a great fight.”

In an interview with Title Sports Network after Ortiz defeated Serhii Bohachuk on a razor thin decision having been knocked down twice, De La Hoya promised to deliver the Crawford fight to his man, if that’s what he wants.

Terence crawford

“I said it was fight of the year and it was fight of the year, that was a war. it was a close fight but Vergil attacked the entire night, Bohachuk deserves all the credit on the night but Vergil one. We discussed the Vergil fight with ‘His Excellency’ and if that’s what Vergil wants then that’s what we’re going to give him.”

It looks like that will be next with Turki Alalshikh making it clear that’s the fight he wants.

“He’s Got The Goods” Tim Bradley Makes Emphatic KO Prediction For Terence Crawford-Jaron Ennis: “He’s Got The Goods”

Before Terence Crawford hangs up the gloves, fans want to see him in with Jaron Ennis.

‘Boots’ Ennis was on the rise in the welterweight division just as Crawford was completing it, dominating Errol Spence Jr to become undisputed before moving up in weight for a new challenge. He has since made his super-welterweight debut, successfully dethroning Israil Madrimov to win the WBA belt.

Should that happen, two-weight world champion turned analyst Tim Bradley told KO Artist Sports he’s backing the more experience man to come out on top, potentially by stoppage.

“There’s a guy like Boots Ennis, right? Good talented fighter, he poses a threat to Crawford but if Crawford fights him I still think that Crawford beats him. He might even knock his ass out, and that’s just coming from me, I could be wrong. However I still think Crawford has the goods to do what he needs to do to win that fight.”

The two Americans have a combined undefeated record of 73, Crawford with 31 stoppages and Ennis 29. Despite Crawford’s lack of interest in the fight, there’s no doubt that the all-American clash is one of the best match-ups in the sport in terms of talent.

If he wants the fight ‘Boots’ will also need to move up to 154 given ‘Bud’s days at 147 are done. In fact, it is fast becoming one of the best options on the table for the four-division champion following the collapse of a potential fight against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh, who is now playing a significant part in Crawford’s career, has expressed interest in making it happen, but his next likely opponent is Vergil Ortiz.

Errol Spence Has No Doubt Who Wins A Prime Floyd Mayweather vs Terence Crawford Fight

Errol Spence Jr is one of few men to have shared a ring with both Floyd Mayweather Jr and Terence Crawford.

Mayweather and Crawford are both considered the best of their generation and happened to compete at the same weight – welterweight.

Spence, although he never faced Mayweather in a pro fight, sparred with ‘TBE’ during his run at 147 and the catchweight victory over Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, with onlookers describing the gym session as a fight and nothing less.

The former 147lb unified champion’s last fight was over a year ago when he was handed his first career defeat in devastating fashion by Crawford. It was billed as a 50/50 contest before the first bell, but ‘Bud’ dominated from the get go and stopped Spence in the ninth round after three knockdowns.

Despite being outclassed by Crawford that night, when asked by Fight Hype who was the better fighter, Spence said there was a ‘big difference’ with Mayweather potentially being the best of all time.

“It’s a big difference. Floyd is just different. I feel like he’s the best fighter… I don’t know about all time, he might be the best fighter of all time and if not he’s close. Two or three, not by far.

There’s different things that Floyd does. He was a lot older when I sparred him and there are just certain things he does that are real tricky. We’d get in the clinch and he was like squeezing my nose so I couldn’t breathe and stuff like that. Veteran, all-time type stuff. Mentally, by far I feel like he’s the best.”

Spence himself is tipped to make his return at the end of the year against WBC super-welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora.

As Benavidez Decides To Stay At 175 Canelo Alvarez Makes Major U-Turn On Terence Crawford Fight.

Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez has seemingly had a change of heart about a possible fight against Terence Crawford.

Terence Crawford set his sights on the super-middleweight champion after he dominated Errol Spence Jr last year to become undisputed champion at welterweight.

In reaction, Canelo, when speaking with Box Azteca, completely ruled out facing the naturally smaller man,

“No [I will never fight Crawford].

People criticised me fighting Charlo because he was coming up in weight so now imagine Crawford going from welterweight to 168lbs, I have everything to lose and nothing to gain because if I win, they’ll say, ‘Oh, he was too small, and everything!”

However, in a more recent interview with Supreme Boxing, the Mexican said he is now willing to fight ‘Bud’ if the money is right.

“It depends on the money but why not?

“In the end, he is a great fighter, Crawford, obviously 3 divisions lower, but as I have said to you, I have fought with people bigger than me, the same categories as me, shorter than me, older than me, younger than me. In the end, I was born to fight, I am here to fight with whoever, obviously with the terms that most suit me, at this point in my career I am always going to do the best fights and those that suit me.”

If money is the main determining factor in making it happen then fans might just get their wish, as the man behind boxing in Saudi Arabia Turki Alalshikh has told ESPN he intends to make the clash and will be offering Canelo a ‘fair price’ very soon.

“I will give Canelo what I think is a fair price. If he accepts it, he deals directly with me to finish the deal. I don’t want anyone in the middle. I guaranteed Crawford a big fight, I want Canelo for Crawford and Crawford wants Canelo. But if Canelo is crazy [with his financial demands] I will still guarantee Crawford any fight he wants.”

Terence crawford

With David Benavidez deciding to stay at at light-heavyweight to face the winner of Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol rather than continue to chase a Canelo showdown, the four weight world champions options for the huge payday he’s looking for are starting to look slim without Crawford.

Go and show your best in the ring” Errol Spence Jr gets told to stop waiting around and step into ring by former world champion rival

While some of the biggest names in boxing bide their time and wait to announce their next moves, many peoples’ pick as the pound-for-pound king is set to fight in a week’s time. Terence Crawford will be debuting at 154 pounds, challenging Israil Madrimov for his WBA super welterweight title.

While Crawford gets ready to fight, the opponent he last faced is struggling to make a decision on his future. Errol Spence Jr. has been eyeing a fight against light middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora, but Fundora is waiting to see if he can get a fight with Crawford first.

Is Errol Spence letting his prime slip away?

While Spence stays patient, Shawn Porter is imploring him to get off the couch and into the ring.

It’s kind of a now-or-never situation to me: Get back in the ring now or you’re flirting with never getting back in the ring… If I was to advise him, I’d say: Take the fight now. Compartmentalize as much as you can, allow your legal people to deal with issues, focus on Fundora and make the best of that experience… He’s got to get back in the ring.

The issues Porter mentions come from a pair of lawsuits against and by Derrick James, Spence’s trainer who he split with after the Crawford fight. James has claimed he’s owed over $5 million from working in Spence’s corner.

Errol Spence Jr. has a lot on his mind right now. The best medicine could very well be sitting down at the table with Fundora, setting a date and throwing hands.

“It’s Over If He Hits Him” Fans In Shock At Madrimov’s New ‘Hulk’ Physique For Crawford Fight.

Terence Crawford looks to become a world champion in a fourth division on August 3 when he steps up to Israil Madrimov.

Crawford has won honours at 135, 140 and 147, and will challenge Madrimov for the WBA 154 World Title in Los Angeles as part of Riyadh Season’s first promotional offering in the US. The fight is also for the WBO and WBC Interim titles, meaning ‘Bud’, should he be victorious, could look to unify and eventually become undisputed in a third weight-class.

The muscular Madrimov, a career long super-welter, is 10-0 with seven early finishes and won the belt last time out by stopping Magomed Kurbanov.

He will step through the ropes a considerable underdog with bookmakers, but is younger, fresher and bulkier than the pound-for-pound star.

The size difference was analysed by fans recently when an in-gym picture of Uzbekistan’s Madrimov did the rounds on social media, leading the poster to brand him ‘The Incredible Hulk.’

Whilst some fans said Crawford was in for a real challenge based on the picture, ‘massive, ‘he gonna beat Crawford, ‘it’s over if he hits him’, many also said the muscular frame could work to the American’s advantage.

‘His punches are too slow and wide to trouble Bud,’ said one, whilst another said his bulk could lead to gassing early – a crucial factor against the elite Crawford who has been known to expose any mistakes or openings from both the orthodox and southpaw stances. Madrimov did tend to leap in and drop his guard on occasion in his title-winning effort, something the 36-year-old from Omaha will have spotted.

Madrimov does have the clear upper-hand in activity having fought in March of this year whereas Crawford was last out in the career-defining Errol Spence Jr win in July.

Terence crawfordThe fight doesn’t just represent a legacy-building opportunity for ‘Bud’ but also a measuring stick for his ultimate goal of facing Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. Intriguingly, Madrimov was used as a sparring partner by light-heayvweight champion Dmitry Bivol when he became just the second man to beat Canelo.

One Major Mistake “He’s In Trouble Now” Terence Crawford’s Coach Reveals Canelo’s One Major Mistake

According to Terence Crawford’s trainer, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez would have been far better off accepting a fight against his man when they called him out last year.

Crawford is coming off a career-defining victory against Errol Spence Jr just over a year ago. Since that night, ‘Bud’ has set his sights firmly on a clash against undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo.

Although the fight would represent a three weight-class jump from the Spence contest and see Crawford ignore being called out by growing welterweight star Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, he told the MMA Hour that Canelo brings far more to the table in both legacy and bank balance.

“Where I’m at right now, I’m looking at the fight that makes the most sense and that’s not Boots. Canelo’s gonna bring way more to my legacy and way more to my bank account.

Because at the end of the day when boxing is done, what will we have? I would have a legacy that’s something people talk about for ages. And I would have a bank account that would last for ages as well.”

For his next fight the 36-year-old will move up one division to face current 154lbs WBA champion Israil Madrimov.

In an interview with FightHype, Crawford’s coach, Brian ‘BoMac’ Mcintyre, was asked if the Mexican had made a mistake not taking the fight straight away and allowing ‘Bud’ to gain activity and move more slowly into the higher weights.

Terence crawford

“If we do get the Canelo fight right after the Madrimov fight, he might just be in a bit of trouble because he’s has got into that rhythm, and he’s into his groove, and it’s a good thing for Terence.”

Crawford takes on Madrimov on August 3 in Los Angeles.

Crawford vs Jaron “He Has Everything” Roy Jones Jr Delivers Honest Verdict On Terence Crawford vs Jaron Ennis.

Jaron Ennis picked up the IBF Welterweight World Title when Terence Crawford decided to move up in weight and vacate. That hasn’t stopped the Philly native from wanting the fight.

‘Boots’ Ennis is now seen as the clear standout in the 147 ranks with the departure of Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. Coming off a successful defence of his belt by stopping David Avanesyan in five rounds, the 27-year-old has moved to 32-0.

Speaking to YSM Sports Media, multi-weight world champion and the best fighter of his era Roy Jones Jr said Ennis presents a ‘very difficult’ challenge to the two-time undisputed champ.

“I don’t now yet cause we seen Boots in against a guy that has touched him enough to really test his chin, so that’s the only thing we don’t know about him yet. We don’t know if he can take a real punch.

As far as skills go, he got everything. That fight could be very difficult cause he has everything. When a guy as talented with the skill-level that Boots has, anything can happen. But, don’t get me wrong, Bud has the skill level too. Great fight.”

Despite now having the chance to go on and unify the welterweight titles as ‘Bud’ did before him, ‘Boots’ has expressed an interest in moving up to 154 to make the fight happen.

Terence Crawford

With the backing of Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh, it suddenly becomes quite possible. First up, Crawford has his first challenge in that division against WBA Champion Israil Madrimov. Should he win, he’s still looking away from Ennis and towards Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Teddy Atlas Knows ‘The Only Way’ Terence Crawford Will Fight Jaron Boots Ennis

Jaron Ennis continues to make a case for a fight against Terence Crawford.

The undefeated Philly star was upgraded to IBF World Champion when Crawford made the decision to move up in weight and recently defended his belt with a fifth round stoppage of David Avanesyan – a man Crawford stopped in six.

espite the two-weight undisputed champion having a super-welterweight world title challenge next month against Israil Madrimov.

Speaking on his podcast, The Fight, world championship trainer turned analyst Teddy Atlas believes ‘Boots’ is more likely to move up a division for the ‘Bud’ bout rather than stick around at 147 to collect more belts.

“At the end of the day, Ennis moves forward. I believe you’re gonna see him move up and try to get the Crawford fight. That would make sense in trying to search for greatness, and of course money.”

Atlas then said that it would take Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh to get Ennis – undefeated in 32 – and Crawford – undefeated in 40 – to step through the ropes together. He believes, as with most in the sport, that there’s no chance Crawford moves back down to welterweight.

“The only way he takes that fight, he wins the [super-welterweight] title – and he’s into a solid guy [Madrimov] to win that title – but if he wins that title in August, and Turki Alalshikh comes up with extraordinary money, all of a sudden you see a reason to take that fight. Again, at that weight class.”

No fan could call the match-up a bad one, but ‘Bud’ has kept his sights set on a bigger, at the very least in weight, challenge in the form of undisputed super-middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, another bout Alalshikh wants to see.
