Tiger Woods Completely Fools CBS Sports Reporter With Viral April Fools Achilles Joke

Golf legend Tiger Woods made a heartbreaking announcement to the golf world on March 11 when he shared that he had ruptured his left Achilles tendon, an injury that led to successful surgery shortly afterward.

Woods said he felt a “sharp pain” in his left Achilles after training and practicing at home before an evaluation revealed the devastating injury.

On Tuesday, April 1, aka April Fools’ Day, Woods decided to have a little fun with the sports world as he shared an April Fools’ joke that sounded completely implausible yet caught several readers off-guard as they made the mistake of believing Woods’ injury recovery themed joke.

“I can’t believe I am saying this, but a few weeks after rupturing my left Achilles, the sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber plus the explosive lifts my doctors and trainers have me read to play the Masters next week! Can’t wait! See y’all on the course!” Woods wrote on X Tuesday.

Wolfson paving the way on sideline

The message was retweeted by CBS Sports reporter Tracy Wolfson soon after she admitted she had been fooled.

Woods later responded that his Achilles is “still a mess” as he fessed up to the devious April Fools’ joke that surprised many readers.

The 2025 Masters Tournament, its 89th iteration, is expected to run from April 10-April 13 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
